Fitness Programs

Fit 5 is a program that helps athletes build healthy habits in three areas: exercise, nutrition, and hydration. The goal is to stay healthy not just in sports, but every day.

Fit 5 encourages athletes to:

  • Exercise 5 days a week

  • Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day

  • Drink 5 bottles of water a day

Fit 5 can be done at home, at practice, or anywhere. It’s simple for coaches to use and helps athletes stay active, healthy, and ready to perform their best.

The Train 4 Life™ program is a holistic health and fitness program focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health for teens and adults ages 13+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The 12- week program will encompass pre-and-post-health and fitness testing outcomes, along with once-a- week group workouts, two at-home workouts, and weekly virtual nutrition and mental wellness education. By improving fitness and health outcomes, we can empower Special Olympics athletes and individuals with IDD to develop appropriate health goals and measure realistic outcomes, to improve all health disparities our population with intellectual disabilities faces.
