Highlights from 2026 Special Olympics USA Games
This year, 32 athletes from across Idaho have were selected to represent our state at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Competing in bocce, bowling, swimming, athletics, basketball and flag football, these athletes showcased the talent and determination that make Idaho proud. Their journey would not be possible without the dedicated coaches and volunteers who stand beside them, giving their time, energy, and heart to ensure every athlete is supported. Together, our athletes, coaches, and volunteers embody the spirit of inclusion, teamwork, and perseverance, carrying the pride of Idaho to the national stage.
SPECIFICS
From June 20 to 26, 2026, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis–Saint Paul hosted the Special Olympics USA Games, one of the largest inclusive sporting events in the nation. More than 4,000 athletes from across the United States came together to compete in Olympic-style sports, supported by thousands of coaches, volunteers, and fans.
This year, Team Idaho proudly sent 32 athletes from communities across our state to compete in bocce, bowling, swimming, athletes, basketball, and flag football. Guided by dedicated coaches and supported by volunteers, they showcased not only their skills but also the heart, perseverance, and unity that define Idaho.
For Idaho, the USA Games are more than a competition, they are a chance to show the nation the strength of our communities, the joy of inclusion, and the limitless potential of our athletes. Team Idaho carried with it the spirit of our entire state as they took that step onto the national stage.
